Original answer
In my operations class, I worked on a project with a campus food pantry where we looked at ways to improve the student intake process. I helped identify that the process was taking longer than it needed to, and I worked with the team to make it more efficient. We found students were repeating the same information on two separate forms. We changed part of the check-in process with the volunteer lead, which helped reduce wait times and made the experience better for students, and the pantry could serve more students before closing. It was a good example of how I identified a problem and improved the process.

In my operations class, I worked on a project with a campus food pantry where we looked at ways during its busiest service window to improve the student intake process. I helped identify that the process was taking longer than it needed to, and I worked with the team to make it more efficient. We found so I mapped the existing flow and found students were repeating the same information on two separate forms. We changed part of the check-in process To improve the process, I tested a pre-filled check-in sheet with the volunteer lead, which helped reduce wait times and made the experience better for students, and the pantry could serve more students before closing. It was a good example of how I identified a problem and improved the process. Average intake time dropped from about 9 minutes to just over 5 minutes per student, roughly a 40% reduction.
